Influences china had on japan
Language
When China found japan the Japanese did not have any written script or way to converse with the Chinese. This made trade very difficult. So the Japanese adapted to the Chinese Kanji script to make communication between the two contries easier. Japan saw a written script to be useful. So kanji became the public writing system and was integrated into mens education. it was not until the late ninth century that Japanese started to write in their own language. Over time each Languige changed enough that today they are unique but still today there are similarities. For example the Japanese and Chinese have the same number system. Religion Buddhism has been practised from the early fifth century and was brought over by the Chinese. All though the Japanese already had their shinto beliefs by this time period there was still a strong appeal for buddhism. after taking up buddhism the Japanese have built many shrines for the buddha gods. there are over 1000 temples in japan including some in Nara, Kyushu, Kyoto and even Japans capital city Tokyo. |
